Whitsun has many names: Feast of Enlightenment, Birth of Church, Celebration of the Light, Reception of the Holy Spirit. Johann Sebastian Bach also found verbose and jubilantly rich in sound names for it and for the finale of the “Barocktage” three of his works shall sound: „O ewiges Feuer, o Ursprung der Liebe“, „Also hat Gott die Welt geliebt“, „Erschallet ihr Lieder“. The “Barocktage” end thus on a jubilant note, once again with the Concentus Musicus Wien under the baton of Stefan Gottfried. As a premiere in Melk, next to the renowned singers Michael Schade and Günther Groissböck, the Tölzer Knabenchor will join the orchestra, as they did once with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, to renew their collaboration.
